What is Murderoku?

Sudoku logic, rebuilt as a detective case

A traditional Sudoku gives you numbers and boxes. Murderoku gives you guests, rooms, objects, and testimony. The familiar logic remains: every suspect has one position and can appear only once in each row and column. Rooms add another layer. Who shared a room? Who stood beside a wall, door, or particular piece of furniture?

There are no hidden rules to guess. Everything you need is visible in the clues and on the board. By crossing out impossibilities and combining statements, you gradually prove the only valid arrangement.

How a case unfolds

1. Inspect the manor. Study the rooms, doors, walls, and objects relevant to the case.
2. Read every statement. A clue may confirm a position, exclude a room, or connect two suspects.
3. Place and make notes. Commit proven positions and record possibilities that remain open.
4. Find contradictions. A placement that makes another clue impossible cannot be correct.
5. Make your accusation. The guest left alone in a room with the victim is the killer.

Murderoku suits players who enjoy Sudoku, zebra puzzles, logic grids, escape-room riddles, and classic whodunits. Early cases teach the system gently. Later files ask you to combine several clues at once. Because guessing is never required, the ending feels earned: not found by luck, but proved by logic.
